Medical illustration is a great way to communicate complex ideas. From spine health to skin care, medical illustration can be explored in a range of different styles and even put to motion. Whether you’re looking for something simple and clean, detailed and rendered, or even modeled and textured in 3D, medical illustration offers an undeniable range of flexibility.
If determining the overall look and feel for an animation is your goal, the same techniques utilized in medical illustration can be applied to look development. Often times, look development is the less refined cousin of medical illustration because the overall idea is what’s most important, rather than the details.
Over the course of my career, I’ve contributed to a vast assortment of medical illustrations and designed the primary look and feel for animated pieces, from medical to commercial and everything in between.
